The Panther
Creeping swiftly through the night,
Sleeping in the light of day,
Black as death itself,
Invisible through day,
Eyes gleam yellow in the moonlight,
Eyes closed though in the bright clear day,
Gracefully, running through the dark forest,
The forest is its hiding place in the dangerous day,
Smaller animals cower in fear,
In their burrows in the night,
Its growl is low and soft,
Yet loud and clear in the still dark night,
But in the day it would be a mere whisper,
Its stays stock still,
Through the morning and the day,
Yet it covers miles in the cold black night,
All of it radiates danger in the night,
All of it radiates beauty in the night,
All of it radiates death to the creatures in the cold dark night.
