Slap, slap, slap. One after another two jet black, clawed flippers emerged around the rich mahogany door frame. A huge beige coat trailed behind the small figure. The arms of the jacket were only defined on the shoulders of the figure or what should have been the shoulders if the clothing was anything to go by. The freakishly small head was almost completely covered in a matching detective hat. The only thing that really gave away his true identity though was the protruding black beak. A golden magnifying glass lay by his side and as he raised his head a twinkle formed in his eye. The jacket fell open and revealed his black feathers with a white patch on his chest. His feathers ruffled as he adjusted to the cold of the room.
He waddled over to the bed collecting his spy glass as he went. He clambered up onto the cyan duvet and staggered towards the white frilled pillows. The room was covered in intricate yellow floral wallpaper and the ceiling was white, detailed by floral patterns. A leather armchair was stood in the corner of the room beside a blue tiled fireplace. The floor was laid with dark wood floor boards and was covered with a beautiful maroon and gold rug. You'd think that such a room would be warm and inviting but it was now left cold and abandoned. The penguin continued around the room searching for clues of the whereabouts of the infamous villain Captain Hook. Among his other scandalise titles he was now also an escapee of the most high security prison on earth!
Henry, the great detective penguin, was searching the mahogany wardrobe when a gleaming object caught his eye. He waddled over to the fireplace and wiped away the ash. Embedded in the dust and grime was a shining compass and a small chest. Henry stared at the chest wondering what it might hold. He carefully opened the chest and peered inside. Inside the box lay a weathered old map which was very typical of a pirate map but this was not a normal map... this map was covered in lines and measurements but there was no clue as to which way was which on the map besides a drawing of a simple compass. It was missing the North, South, East and West. The penguin glanced over at the compass, a twinkle forming in his eye. He grabbed the compass and flipped it open. He then aligned it with the map and used a second compass to figure out what direction it was pointing.
With the map's directions filled in, he waddled out the door and down the oak stairs. He found his way down to the polices head office and waddled through the glass doors. "Ting" rang the bell. "I will be needing reinforcements Tommy" squawked the penguin. "Where?" the polar bear muttered steering down his snout with two black beady eyes which were shadowed by a police hat. "Treasure island" said the Penguin. "They're on their way" said the bear. With that Henry the penguin speed to the dock. When he arrived he leapt headfirst into the water and started speeding out to sea his jacket trailed in the water and eventually slid off. In minutes the dock fell away over the horizon and a small island and ship were materialising in the distance. The island was very small and housed a big grey volcano in the centre. As Henry came ashore he slid around behind a huge grey boulder. Peering around to the corner Henry was startled to hear shouting he waddled further inland and saw a huge group of pirates and Captain Hook himself! He watched on as Captain Hook shouted orders at his crew which were hauling up a magnificent chest which was very typical of a pirate! Henry got out his spy phone and called 02708. An icon popped up and the caller ID read "Polar Police" "they should be here soon!" He thought.
While he waited for the authorities to arrive he searched the ship, he found several artefacts of importance which were probably stolen form other islands around the area but nothing too big. Then "thwack, thwack, thwack" rang out overhead. Henry looked up to see an army of white helicopters hovering above the island sirens flashing. He steered out the captain's quarters to see a troop of polar bears emerging from the ocean completely surrounding the island. The polar bears were wearing black and blue wetsuits and we're all looking staunch and ready to attack. Henry waddled outside and went over to the chief "You did well skipper!" cried the Chief of Police. He was a huge bear towering over the small penguin. He wore a police uniform and hat. The two unlikely companions looked on as the pirates were piled into helicopters and finally the Captain Hook himself. He glared at Henry with disgust. "Huh" laughed the Chief "he's been ratted out by a penguin!"
