That was another one gone. Blood seeped across the soft, white carpet, leaving heavy stains of scarlet in it's wake. The lady's fingers twitched feebly, her body a lake of wounds, blood dripping from the side of her mouth, causing her to gurgle in her attempts to speak. Still embedded in her flesh, the flecks of glass has a sinister shimmer to them, showing specks of red that would swirl green and then black and then red again, revealing the true nature of the lady who he hadn't suspected for a second. He'd never actually questioned her when she'd claimed to be Camilla Bonehart, because that was the name on all the records they'd found on her. But with the power her name brought upon her, there also came a great suffering. How long had it taken her to become afraid? To realise the curse that her greatest treasure had brought upon her? He sneered down at her, his heart burning with emotions but as cold as ice. His hand slipped into his pocket, moving around the limp fabric until he felt cold metal brush against his fingers. He drew his gun slowly, well aware that a gun would do nothing but shorten her remaining time, but still using it out of instinct alone. It was the only weapon he had, and weapons won battles. All it took was one shot for this sort of victim." Where'd you hide it, Camilla? Tell me and I mightn't put a bullet in your brain." To prove his point, he adjusted his aim to her forehead, his finger tensed on the trigger. 'Camilla' dragged herself to her knees on shaky but surprisingly strong hands, her gaze locking on his. Her eyes were unlike what he'd ever seen. Blazing with hatred, emotion, defiance, determination...all the bad luck since she was a child was establishing itself in her eyes, the pure emotion hidden inside her sending a shiver down his spine. To use it, a victim must be consumed by her own bitterness towards life, empowered by a passionate anger for humanity, before it'll come to them. He could only imagine what'd been done to her, the hardships she'd endured, to succumb to the darkness induced upon her from birth. It was uncanny to see a human turned against her own race like this." Don't be foolish." He growled," I know that as long as the weapon is left to bind itself to another, those who come after you will pay for your mistakes. Don't let it consume you like this." She simply glared at him, her eyes unchanging, until eventually he turned his head slightly, his stomach clenched with discomfort. This was the woman who he'd been planning to give his life to. The woman who he'd wanted to have for eternity, the woman who he'd been ready to propose to. She wasn't the only one who had bad luck, apparently. His heart was tearing itself up at the sight of her beautiful, wide green eyes like emeralds, her ash blonde hair that he'd run his hand through while she laughed, her formal manner towards people. Those eyes had always been so full of warmth and kindness. Not hatred and darkness." More may come and more may go," her voice startled him for a moment, the sounds of blood gurgling inside her, and she had to cough until blood splattered on the floor, a few drops landing on her hands." But more will replace me every time, and the box won't stay tame forever. You'll never stop it, Jack. Your descendants will be swept up by the oncoming darkness, and one day, the earth will wilt and perish by the hands of my offspring's offspring. You can search the depths of Tartarus and the peaks of space, but you'll never lay your hands on my treasure. Hatred will always follow you. You precious race will die, and the world shall finally know justice. And it'll be your offspring's offspring that eventually destroys us all!" She smiled at him smugly, and his finger yanked the trigger back in a sudden movement. A single bang and a small gasp. And then nothing. Emptiness as her body slumped down, the horrid crack as the bones and muscles holding her up twisted and turned at strange angles trying to make way for her body. He'd discovered, destroyed a life and emptied himself. The sun was up, but it wasn't shining on him."
