This is what I wrote about Olveston. I have tried to use features from olveston, but I would appreciate some feedback! Thank you and enjoy! (Also I might try to make this a novella, depends on what I do with some of my other stories)
“Mama?” A sweet, soft voice echoed off the quiet halls, as the silent footsteps pitter patter through the corridor. A young girl, much too young to be up so late walked through the halls in a white nightgown nervously chewing on the ends on the ends of her gold spun hair curls. She searched the halls with big doe eyes that were glittering like the diamonds that hung from the golden chandlers. Her foot steps were quick but quiet on the polished wooden floorboards, as she rushed down the staircase in desperate search of her mother. The girl had woken from a horrific nightmare of blood and demons and she was in search of her mother for comfort, after she checked her velvet covered bed. She made her way into the dining room, as it sounded like the fire was crackling. The young girl went towards the table and saw a quick reflection of the silverware that had been put out for the previous-night. The fire had not been crackling, it was just the wind outside, so she went back up the wooden stairs to the card room. She was just tall enough to reach the light switch in the cards room and so within 5 seconds the room went ablaze. The pool table lay in the center and was like a swimming pool to her. The silk drapes were swaying by the window. Curious the girl walked over and pulled the curtains. She let out a gasp. The window had been smashed and a form of red liquid, was dripping down the remaining glass. The young girl put her hands onto the oak windowsill and tries to pull herself up to see outside. She fails and walks over to a nearby chair and starts dragging it along the floor, making a dreading noise. Once she is finished the house is silent again, and she manages to look out the window. She lets out a long sharp scream. A creature is hovering over the figure, growling. It looks up towards the girl and snarls making the young girl whimper. It’s eyes glow red, making it seem like artwork on some of the weapons that is in the reception room downstairs. After a few minutes later the animal leaves by running into the bushes. At the bottom of the garden she can see the outline of a body, her mother’s body, a dead body…
