Chapter 1 - rUnning for freedom
New chapter will be posted most Thursday's.
Sweat dribbles down my face as I charge over the slippery gravel. An unrelenting force of air presses against my back. The gleaming sun strikes my body as I nervously reach the top of the bump in the ground.
As I slide down the slope a loud unheard language, chases and successfully reaches my ears. I dive for the prickly bushes as they flounder up the hill. I peer at them and count, 2,4,6,7. "Seven men are hunting me?" I think to myself.
I turn my ears to the voices trying to make out what they're saying, but of course I don't understand them. My heart pounds against my chest like a wrecking ball as one of them points a bow towards me. Instantly I realize I have been spotted. I slowly back away as they all glared at me.
I gaze to the clouds as I suddenly roll down a hill hitting each tree, branch and bush in my path. My eyelids shut and my shoulders turn tense. I lay still hoping I have lost the men. The large trees sprinkle autumn leaves and the branches cut the light into pieces.
I lift myself up out of the bushes. I search for any sight of other life nothing not even a fly. I run through the tall grass looking for shelter.
Hours later of searching my mind goes blank and my energy expires. Now I realize... I'm all alone...
Next week is CHAPTER 2 - THE CAVE
